Co-Creating with a Purpose: How Our Books Are Made Together
At Mindful Sprouts CIC, we believe that the best books for children aren’t made in isolation; they’re co-created with heart, purpose, and with people who care.
Each colouring book we produce is a collaborative effort, built by a growing community of educators, parents, artists, subject experts, charities, and even children themselves. Why? Because we want every book to reflect real knowledge, lived experience, and shared values.
Here’s how the process works and how you can get involved.

š¤ It Starts with a Shared Vision
Every book begins with a simple but powerful question:
“What do children need to learn, feel, or explore right now?”
Sometimes, the answer comes from global issues, such as sustainability or entrepreneurship. Other times, it comes from local communities, teachers, or even children’s own questions.
Once the theme is chosen, we gather a team of co-creators who bring the topic to life with integrity and imagination.
š§ Working with Experts Who Know Their Field
We partner with people who are deeply knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about their work.
For example:
- Sales and life skills expert Fred Copestake helped us develop a child-friendly book that shows how sales is really about communication, understanding others, and solving problems, not just making money.
- Conservationists have contributed to our book about African elephants, ensuring it’s both factual and emotionally engaging.
- We’ve consulted language teachers and parents from multilingual homes to include phrases and cultural cues that make children from all backgrounds feel represented.
These collaborations ensure that our books are accurate, relevant, and deeply human.
āļø Creative Collaboration with Artists and Educators
While the words and facts matter, how the book feels is just as important.
That’s why our artists and illustrators work closely with educators to:
- Align images with age-appropriate learning goals,
- Create visual prompts that spark storytelling and discussion,
- Represent children from diverse communities in meaningful ways.
And because we believe in sustainability, we choose to print on recyclable materials using non-toxic, child-safe inks, a commitment our co-creators help uphold.
š§ Children as Co-Creators, Too
We also invite children into the process, not as passive consumers, but as active voices.
We’ve piloted our books in real settings, such as Nottingham City Library, where families gave honest feedback:
- What images sparked questions?
- What made them laugh, pause, or want to learn more?
- How did the book make them feel?
This feedback helps us refine, improve, and evolve every new title.
“My son didn’t just colour, he started asking questions. That’s when I knew this book was different.”

š± Why We Co-Create
We believe children deserve books that:
- Are grounded in truth,
- Designed with care,
- And infused with real-world wisdom.
By co-creating, we ensure that our books not only entertain but also empower. They reflect a collective hope for a more informed, kind, and connected generation.
š¬ Want to Co-Create With Us?
We’re always looking for:
- Subject experts who can guide the content,
- Teachers and parents with insights on what children need,
- Translators, artists, and community leaders who can enrich our stories,
- And most importantly, those who care deeply about helping children thrive.
Whether you have an idea for a book or simply want to lend your voice to our next project, you’re warmly invited.
š© Contact us to become a co-creator together, we’ll plant the seeds for something beautiful.
š Books Made Together. Stories That Grow Forever.
Mindful Sprouts CIC was never meant to be a one-person mission.
It’s a community, and every book is proof that when we create together, the result is more profound, stronger, and more meaningful.
So if you’ve ever said,
“I wish there were better books for kids⦔
or
“I wish I could share what I know with young learners⦔
This is your opportunity.
Let’s grow something amazing, together. šæ
